New Smyrna Beach, Fla. — A New Smyrna Beach Man is in custody Saturday following his arrest on 15 counts of possession of child pornography, two days after Sheriff's detectives received a cyber tip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children.
33 year old Jonathan Erb was arrested Friday night as detectives were conducting surveillance and located him at a nearby McDonald's. When he arrived, he was arrested for driving with a suspended license and possession of marijuana. He was then transported for questioning at the Sheriff's Operation Center.
Detectives then found numerous pornographic video and images in his possession of children appearing to be between the ages of 4 and 9.
Erb admitted to manufacturing child porn and having multiple videos on his cell phone after a search warrant was executed for the phone.
Erb remains held at the Volusia County Branch Jail with bail set at $78,000.
Detectives have not been led to identify any local children victims, but are asking anyone who may identify a potential victim to contact the Volusia County Sheriff's Office Child Exploitation Unit at 386-254-1537.
