One dead in New Smyrna Beach house fire

One person is dead after a house fire in Volusia County late Sunday night.
 
Firefighters said crews arrived at the burning New Smyrna Beach home and found heavy smoke coming from the house.
 
After the fire was extinguished around 11:30 p.m., firefighters began a search of the residence and found the victim in the front part of the home.
 
Fire crews from Volusia County, New Smyrna Beach and Port Orange responded to the fire.
 
The fire marshal is investigating the cause of the fire.
