Orange County Sheriff's Office releases sketch of man accused of trying to grab girl off bike

The Orange County Sheriff’s Office is asking for the public’s help in locating a man accused of trying to pull an 11-year-old girl off her bicycle over the weekend.

The incident was reported just after 5 p.m. Saturday when two 11-year-old girls were riding their bikes north on Avalon Park East Boulevard near Tanja King Boulevard, deputies said.

A man they didn’t know grabbed one of the girls as they rode by and tried to pull her off her bike, investigators said.

The girl was able to pull away and both of the 11-year-olds continued north on Avalon Park East Boulevard until they reached Golden Rain Tree Boulevard, the OCSO said.

About 10 minutes after they stopped, they said the same man was walking toward them and they quickly rode away, deputies said.

The individual is described as a white male with a tan, 35-45 years old, with short dark hair and facial hair, investigators said.

At the time of the incident, the man was wearing a baggy gray T-shirt with baggy dark pants.

The girls told deputies that the man appeared to be unsteady on his feet.

Anyone with information on the incident or individual being sought by deputies is asked to call Crimeline, 800-423-8477.
