ORLANDO, Fla. — The Harbor House of Central Florida, men and many others walked nearly a mile down Orange Avenue to the Orlando City Hall courtyard with women’s high heels to take a stance against domestic violence.

Women, friends, family members and colleagues were also encouraged to participate in the community event.

Orlando Mayor Buddy Dyer was among the attendees, helping to show support for the cause.

According to Harbor House, which works to prevent and eliminate domestic abuse in Central Florida, 99.98% of those helped through Harbor House survived an abusive relationship.

Orange County Mayor Jerry Demings, Orange County Sheriff John Mina, and Harbor House CEO Michelle Sperzel were also in attendance.
