Orlando Commissioner Regina Hill speaks out on sons’ arrest

An Orlando city commissioner has broken her silence days after her two sons were arrested in a drug raid on a home she owns.

Regina Hill’s sons, Rakeem Hill and Omari Nembhard, were arrested on drug trafficking charges during the raid Friday.

“I have no knowledge of what’s going on in that house,” she said.

Investigators said Hill has not been implicated in any of the criminal activity.

Investigators got a tip about illegal drug activity at the home, and when they served warrants, they found cocaine, marijuana, meth and handguns.

A total of five people were arrested in the raid.

Commissioner Hill’s attorney issued a statement, but she did not speak publicly until Wednesday.

“Have I visited (the home)? Yes, I have visited, I’ve never seen any drugs. I’ve never seen any drug sales go on there,” she said.

She said she stands by her sons after their arrest and pledges her love and support toward them.

Hill admitted she often visited the home.

“I have a granddaughter that’s there,” she said.

She insisted she would only visit the home to check on juvenile relatives. The commissioner blasted the media for bringing up her own criminal history.

“I’m an upstanding citizen,” she said. “It’s not fair. I’ve been a hard-working woman and mother.”

Hill’s supporters rallied to her defense and held an impromptu prayer.

She offered words of support for her two sons, who are being held in jail.

“I want to tell my sons I love them,” she said.
