ORLANDO, FLORIDA — For the second year in a row, News 96.5 WDBO was named Large Market Station of the Year during Thursday night's 29th annual National Association of Broadcasters (NAB) Marconi Radio Awards in Orlando, Florida.
“I am so proud and honored to accept this award for an unbelievable team,” said WDBO Program Director Drew Anderssen. “I share this award tonight with, not only my team, but the great and incredible brands represented tonight here in this room from Cox Media Group.”

According to the NAB website, the Marconi's recognize "overall excellence and performance in radio."
Orlando's Morning News host Joe Kelley also snagged his very first Marconi for Large Market Personality of the Year. He dedicated the award to his father who passed away earlier this year.
“My father was my biggest fan and he would be really proud of me up here on stage right now.”

He also took time to thank the morning news team he works with every day.
"I wouldn't be anywhere up here on this stage if not for my team of amazing broadcasters: Marsha Taylor, Ray Caputo, Darrell Moody, Laurel Lee and Samantha Jordan who every single day have one job and that's to make us all sound great on the radio. So thank you so much."
