Orlando, Fla. — A water main break on North Orange Avenue in Orlando flooded the road and trapped a man inside his SUV Monday.
The water main break was reported shortly before 4:15 p.m. at North Orange Avenue and Park Lake Street.
The driver of the vehicle, R.J. Borum, spoke with our News partners at Eyewitness news Channel 9.
"I thought maybe it was a fire hydrant, or someone hit a fire hydrant so I kept driving along," said Borum. "I grabbed my wallet, my two phones, work backpack and laptop and just got out of there."
According to the Orlando Utilities Commission the broken 12-inch pipe was laid in 1887.
