Your power bill could soon go up if you’re an Orlando Utilities Commission customer.
The utility company said it is being forced to raise rates due to rising natural gas prices.
It’s proposing a 10% increase, meaning you could pay about $5 to $15 more than you do now.
There is a meeting scheduled for 2 p.m. Tuesday to talk about the potential price hike.
It will be held at OUC’s offices on West Anderson Street.
It’s a move that is making nobody happy, with budgets already tight.
“I would definitely switch companies if that was possible,” said Alexis LeBlanc, an OUC customer. “Already I thought they were a little outrageous and now they’re just getting worse and worse.”
A vote is expected in May.
If approved, customers will start to see the higher bills in June.
