Person of interest named in death of man found in Orange County pond

The Orange County Sheriff’s Office has named Christopher Luis Medina Fernandez a person of interest in the death of 29-year-old Aramys Johnson, whose body was found floating in a retention pond in August.

According to investigators, Johnson had been in an argument with another driver when the two crashed and his car ended up in the pond off Canoe Creek Falls Drive on Aug. 14.

Deputies later learned that Johnson had been shot in the incident, the sheriff's office said.

Fernandez has not been located and a $5,000 reward has been offered for information on his whereabouts.

Anyone with information on the crash or Johnson’s death is asked to call Crimeline at 800-423-TIPS.
