Residents of the Lake Como area near downtown Orlando have reported numerous encounters with a mysterious man claiming to be a Boone High School student looking for work.
It has set the neighborhood on edge.
“It didn’t feel right,” resident Ruth Carlier said.
The man knocked on her door and then came to her window around noon Tuesday. When he tried to talk to her, Carlier told the man, “You need to leave. Leave my house. Get out of here.”
Her neighbor spoke with the man after he rang his doorbell. He appeared to be a teenager, possibly as old as 19, the neighbor said.
The stranger was looking for yard work to do, the neighbor said.
After Carlier posted her encounter with the man on Facebook, similar stories from around the area started to pop up. The man has been aggressively approaching residents in the neighborhood since Sunday.
The man has not committed a crime as yet, but people in the area are uneasy and want to know who he is and why he’s been soliciting work door-to-door in their neighborhood.
