Port Canaveral-based cruise ship crashes into dock

San Juan, Puerto Rico -- A Norwegian Epic cruise ship that left Port Canaveral on Saturday collided with a small pier in San Juan, Puerto Rico.

The incident on Tuesday comes after the ship was diverted due to power and engine issues on board.

Video footage has been posted on social media which captures the Norwegian Epic hitting parts of the dock,  which were completely destroyed and sank into the water.

“No injuries have been reported and guests are currently disembarking the ship as previously scheduled. We are working closely with local authorities to assess the damage,” said Norwegian Cruise Line on Twitter.
