Reporter forced to cover up her 'revealing' dress during live newscast

Viewers of KTLA 5 witnessed a very awkward moment live on-air when weather anchor Liberté Chan was asked to cover up because her dress was deemed 'too revealing.'

Chan was in the middle of her broadcast when someone off stage handed her a gray sweater.

"What's going on? You want me to put this on? Why? Cause it's cold?" asked Chan, obviously confused by the interruption.

"We're getting a lot of emails," someone off camera says.

Chan puts on the sweater saying, "I look like a librarian now."

Chan posted a clip of the embarrassing moment to her Facebook page asking for feedback and many viewers rallied around her.

"Your dress was fine and the shaming forced on you was simply cruel and uncalled for," Morgan Sheridan commented.

In a video posted after the incident, anchor Chris Burrous read some of the emails the station was revealing with many writing that Chan's dress was "in poor taste" and  that "it l
ooks like she didn't make it home from her cocktail party last night."

Chan says the black dress she was asked to cover up was actually her back-up dress that day and that the other outfit she was going to wear just didn't work.
"I don't know why everyone's hating," said Chan.
She later apologized for being "inappropriate."

Apparently, some viewers think my dress is too revealing... your thoughts? KTLA 5 Morning NewsChris Burrous (Note: please don't take offense to my librarian comment... I love librarians, but in my experience, many of them wear cardigans)
