Safe Place Initiative aims to empower businesses as symbols of safety and inclusion

, Fla. — On Thursday, March 13, The Pride Chamber, in collaboration with the Orlando Police Department and the Orange County Sheriff’s Office, will host an informative session on the Safe Place Initiative, a program aimed at fostering safe havens for individuals in crisis.

The Safe Place Initiative is a community partnership program designed to empower local businesses to act as symbols of safety, inclusion, and support. Participating businesses pledge to provide a welcoming space for individuals experiencing harassment, bullying, or threats, helping them access resources and assistance in their time of need.

During the session, attendees will:

  • Learn about the mission and goals of the Safe Place Initiative.
  • Explore the responsibilities and benefits of becoming a Safe Place partner.
  • Receive training on best practices for assisting individuals in crisis.
  • Complete the business registration process to officially join the program.
