Orlando, Fla. — The Salvation Army in Orlando is holding their 27th annual “Helpings from the Heart” event.
They’re giving out 20,000 Thanksgiving meals to Central Florida families that need it most.
About a thousand volunteers across the area join in on this tradition, as a way to give back to their community.
Volunteers will be serving up more than 3,000 pounds of turkey and ham, as well as 5,000 pounds of mashed potatoes.
The event goes until 4 pm at the Salvation Army off of West Colonial Drive.
