Sanford Police: police guns and equipment stolen

Sanford Police working around the clock Saturday and through the weekend to find the suspect who broke into an unmarked patrol car and stole an officer's two guns, badge, tactical vest and other items.

The Sanford Police unmarked cruiser was in the parking lot of Rob Sullivan Park in Debary at the time of the break-in between 1 and 1:30 Saturday.

Other equipment stolen include, a motorola radio microphone and handcuff key.

Police want to find the suspect as soon as possible, believing they may use the stolen goods to impersonate a cop.
