Hagerty High School administrators sent a message to parents and called more police to campus today after a vague threat to school safety was found written in a boys restroom.

School officials told parents, "We have informed the district office as well as law enforcement. We have additional officers and Seminole County Public School security on campus today. We depend on our students to be our eyes and ears on campus and hope that if anyone knows who did this they will speak up. We are doing everything possible to ensure the safety of all our students and staff."

The news spread quickly on social media Thursday morning and parents began picking up their children.

A Seminole County Sheriff's Office spokesperson reported they received word of a threat a few days ago, that said, "I'm going to blow up this school."

The sheriff's office said it has determined the threat was not credible and tracked down the student responsible, but that person was not in school Thursday.

One parent said, "As soon as I saw it, I just dropped what I was doing. 'Let's go pick up our kids.'"

Parents said they want to know why they are just finding out about the threat that was given days ago.
