Officials with SunRail say the service is going to test a new, late night run, aimed at getting people to and from downtown Orlando.

According to FDOT, an additional train will be added to the schedule starting on Dec. 22. It will depart the DeBary station southbound at 9:05 p.m. and arrive at the Sand Lake Road Station at 10:10 p.m.

The train will then head north from the Sand Lake Road station at 10:20 p.m., arriving at the DeBary station at 11:23 p.m.

Ridership will be closely monitored by FDOT to determine if the later service will be added permanently.

According to the FDOT release, it "anticipates that the additional train will help satisfy customer demand for additional service later in the evening for events at the Amway Center, the new Dr. Phillips Center for the Performing Arts, particularly during the holiday season."

The train will not operate on weekends or holidays, including Christmas Day and New Year's Day
