Thirteen foot tiger shark caught off the coast of southwest Florida

Captiva, Fla. — A researcher is making national headlines after catching a large tiger shark of the coast of Captiva, FL.

Elliot Sudal says he had one fish bait left before catching the 13-foot animal, which he estimates weighed over a thousand pounds.

Clayton Jennings posted a picture of the monster fish on Instagram.

“Elliot has caught more sharks than most fisherman do in a lifetime and he said this was his biggest shark yet. And of course, we had to get in the water with it on a sandbar to set it free. He tags them for federal research and takes a blood sample to learn how to better protect sharks,” Jennings said on Instagram.
