AFRICA — This video is heartbreaking to watch.
Some people on a boating safari at the Liwonde National Park in Malawi in East Africa witnessed a horrifying attack by a crocodile against what appears to be a baby elephant.
In the footage filmed on April 10, a herd of elephants are seen walking near a river. The small elephant stops suddenly and a massive crocodile leaps out of the water and latches onto its trunk! The elephant roars in pain and thrashes around trying to shake the croc loose but it doesn't let go.
Finally the elephant's family comes to the rescue, with one of them appearing to stomp on the crocodile allowing the young elephant to run away.
