Tropical disturbance could form off southeast US coast one week before hurricane season

ORLANDO, Fla. — We are one week away from hurricane season and the tropics are starting to heat up.

Channel 9 meteorologists are monitoring an area stretching from northeast Florida to the Carolinas that could develop into a tropical disturbance.

The development could happen over the next few days as it moves away from Florida.

Though this system will not impact Florida, it is a good reminder to prepare for potential storms to come.
