Dallas Stars player Rich Peverley collapsed on the bench early in the first period of their NHL game against the visiting Columbus Blue Jackets last night (March 10th).
He was taken to the hospital, where doctors said that he was successfully treated for what they called a "cardiac event."
The NHL said that Peverley was doing well and was in stable condition.
Peverley missed the preseason and the season opener because of a procedure to correct an irregular heartbeat.
The game, which the Blue Jackets had been leading 1-0, was suspended, to be made up later.
