Volusia County, Fla. — A Volusia County Sheriff’s deputy was arrested Saturday evening after a domestic incident with his 16 year old son.
50 year old Sergeant Robert Rahn was charged with one count of domestic battery by strangulation and one county of child abuse after the incident at his home in the DeLand area.
Deputies responded there around 6:10 p.m. after an altercation was reported between Rahn and his son. His son told deputies the verbal argument escalated when his father pushed him down onto a couch, punched him in the face and put him in a headlock. The son said his father put his hand over his mouth and nose, and he lost consciousness.
Rahn was taken to the Volusia County Branch Jail without incident Saturday evening and has been temporarily placed on paid administrative leave.
