Officer Tim Claussen, a 10-year veteran of the Zephyrhills police dept in Pasco County was fired after his use of a taser was found to be excessive.
The September 9th incident was recorded by a camera mounted on the officer’s taser.
Officer Clauseen was investigating a shoplifting case when he confronted possible suspect Lester Brown at Browns home.
In the video, Brown is seen clearly raising his arms, protesting the charges and offering no resistance.
This week, Zephyrhills officials fired Claussen. An internal investigation determined "the deployment of the Taser was unjustified," said city attorney Joseph Poblick.
