It’s not the coronavirus that has Americans calling out sick today, its a day full of eating, drinking and possible a little emotional distress.
According to a survey by the Workforce Institute at Kronos International, more employees will miss work the day after the Super Bowl than ever before.
An estimated 17.5 million Americans are expected to stay home while 7.9 million employees are still trying to decide if they will make it to the office.
Another 1.5 million say they will ghost work today, or simply won’t show up but also won’t tell anyone they’re not coming in.
On the bright side, 11.1 million of those missing work Monday got it approved ahead of time.
