Florida has love bugs but the Mid-West has Mayflies and yes that is what is covering the car in the photo above!
Right now they are hatching and invading northeastern Ohio.
At one point Wednesday, a swarm was so thick, weather radar picked it up on the screen.

The mayflies breed in Lake Erie, but it takes about two years to develop into an adult.
The adult bugs can vary in size from a quarter-inch to an inch long, but only live two days once on land.
Swarms, though, can last a month.
