Orange County mom says son with special needs abused, neglected at charter school

An Orange County charter school for students with special needs is now facing a lawsuit.

Stephanie Cooper claims her son was physically abused and neglected at the Access Charter School in Orlando.

Cooper said it happened several times at the hands of one of his teachers.

The mother said her son finally spoke up during a visit to the doctor.

“I pointed and I said one word I said, ‘how,’” Cooper said. “Out of my son’s mouth, who’s on the severe level, said Mr. Doug body slammed me in a chair against a desk.”

Our partners at Channel 9 stopped by the school to ask about the allegations, but the principal’s office said they had no comment.
