It’s machine, it’s the law and it’s watching you.
That is, if you are in Huntington Park, California.
Meet “HP Robocop,” the Huntington Park police department new “autonomous data machine.”
The rolling police-aid unit is equipped with 360-degree video cameras and will monitor areas such as parks and city buildings, then shoot video back to the police department.
This way, police headquarters can ‘facilitate fast and safe responses from police officers.’
While extremely useful, the robocop is also extremely polite.
‘HP’ is also equipped with a voice and will be able to recite phrases to civilians as he rolls by such as “excuse me” and “good day to you.”
Mobile users see video of HP Robocop here.
