Tennessee Air National Guardsman arrested after applying to be a hitman on fake site RentAHitman.com

Last week, a member of the Tennessee Air National Guard was arrested for attempting to hire a hitman through a fake website called “Rentahitman.com.”

The suspect, 21-year-old Josiah Ernesto Garcia, allegedly turned to the website when he needed money to support his family and began searching for contract mercenary jobs online.

Garcia made contact with the website on Feb. 16 by filling out an employment inquiry form expressing interest in obtaining employment as a hitman.

He provided details about his military experience and rifle expertise, while also requesting more information about the job.

Garcia continued to communicate with the website over several days, providing his Tennessee driver’s license, headshot, and resume.

He was subsequently charged with the use of interstate facilities in the commission of murder-for-hire.
