The votes are in, and pop culture was the biggest winner in the Minnesota Department of Transportation’s annual “Name a Snowplow” contest.
There was a winner chosen for each of the state’s eight districts, the Pioneer Press reported.
The biggest vote-getter among the 64,000 votes cast was “Yer a Blizzard, Harry” which plays off Hagrid’s comment to young Harry Potter in the 2001 film, “Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone.” The nickname pulled in 15,248 votes.
The votes are in! 🎉 More than 64,000 people voted and we’re excited to welcome eight new snowplow names to our fleet (including an homage to someone who just won Record of the Year *ahem* hi @lizzo!)

Blizzo was the runner-up with 14,935 votes and will plow snow in the Twin Cities district. It’s a twist on Grammy Award-winning singer Lizzo, who took home an award on Sunday for best record with “About Damn Time.”
Third place went to Clearopathra, which edged out Better Call Salt.
Han Snowlo will please Star Wars fans in south central Minnesota -- may the plow be with you -- while fifth place went to Blader Tot Hotdish. That’s a pun on a favorite casserole in Minnesota, the Tater Tot Hotdish.
Scoop! There it is, will scoop snow in southeastern Minnesota. It’s a reference to the 1993 rap song, “Whoomp! There It is,” And going back nearly two decades earlier, Sleetwood Mac is a nod to the venerable band from the 1970s.
Missing out in ninth place was anti-hero Taylor Drift. Other nicknames that missed the top eight included Harmon Chillebrew (honoring the Twins Hall of Fame slugger), Alice Scooper, Beyonsleigh, Melton John, Buzz Iceclear and Ted Las-snow.
