WJZ’s helicopter captured video of the charges as they went off at the former C.P. Crane Power Generating Station in Bowleys Quarters.

The implosion went off at 8 a.m. EDT, destroying the plant that was built on 153 acres of land in 1961, WTTG reported.

Video compiled by the Baltimore Sun shows the implosion from several angles on the ground.

The property is owned by Forsite Development, based in North Carolina, and was purchased in 2021 on the condition that the plant be responsibly decommissioned and environmental remediation be performed, according to the company’s website.

Forsite’s executives have proposed a plan for the site, which would include 285 residential units and an athletic field, WJZ reported.
