The 95-year-old monarch was in “good spirits,” the spokesperson said.

“Following medical advice to rest for a few days, the Queen attended hospital on Wednesday afternoon for some preliminary investigations, returning to Windsor Castle at lunchtime today, and remains in good spirits,” palace officials said in a statement.

According to the BBC, the queen was “disappointed that she had to cancel a trip to Northern Ireland on Wednesday.”

However, after a busy schedule of public engagements, the queen’s medical staff advised her to rest for a few days.

The queen was pictured holding a Global Investment Summit at Windsor Castle on Tuesday evening, along with Prime Minister Boris Johnson, the BBC reported.

She was admitted to the King Edward VII Hospital in London, and her condition was not related to COVID-19, according to the BBC.

The queen is expected to lead a royal delegation to the Glasgow COP26 climate change summit in two weeks, the news organization reported.
