SAN MATEO COUNTY, Calif. — A man was rescued via helicopter by the California Highway Patrol on Thursday after becoming trapped on a cliff overlooking the Pacific Ocean.
Video shared on the troopers’ official Facebook page shows the daring rescue.
According to The Sacramento Bee, a fisherman alerted rescuers to the man, found clinging halfway down the 500-foot cliff at Mussel Rock Park.
The CHP helicopter spotted the man, maneuvered about 100 feet above the spot and placed him on a rescue harness to extricate him from the cliff, KRON-TV reported.
The victim was airlifted from his precarious perch and examined by first responders, but no injuries were reported, the TV station reported.
