VIDEO: Florida man refuses to sell his 2-bedroom home to developers, now surrounded by skyscrapers

In Coral Gables, Florida, a small two-bedroom house owned by Orlando Capote has gained national media attention due to its unusual situation.

The property has been surrounded by a massive $400 million development called The Plaza Coral Gables, which is now the largest project in the city’s history.

Despite standing for five years during the construction, the towers of The Plaza have destroyed the peace and tranquility that Capote once enjoyed in his family home of 34 years.

He can no longer see the sunrise, sunset, moon or stars, which used to be his hobby of astronomy.

Capote has been challenging what he considers an invasion of his property rights since 2017, but all legal efforts have failed.

He endured years of noisy construction that even blocked the front entrance to his home and covered it in dust and debris.

However, he still refuses to leave his home unless he stops paying property taxes.

The situation is similar to the one depicted in the animated Disney movie Up, creating a bizarre spectacle that has attracted national attention.
