Watch: Florida man dives headfirst into Bass Pro Shop fish tank

Fort Meyers, Fla. — A video shared on Facebook shows a a man diving headfirst into the Bass Pro Shops fish tank in Fort Myers.

The unidentified man can be seen walking up the stairs then diving into the massive tank.

Witnesses told WBBH NBC2News the incident happened on Sunday, but the video was shared on Facebook by Francisco Abraham Perez on Monday with the caption 'Well boys only in Ft.Myers."

He is not the first to do this, it is believed to be part of a challenge people are calling the “Bass Pro Challenge” - where a person tuns into a bass pro shop and jump head first into the fish tank.

The challenge dates back several years.

The store is not encouraging the activity, a statement from Bass Pro Shops reads in part:

This incident is illegal, dangerous and highly discouraged. We work with law enforcement to investigate all individuals who personally attempt or are involved with such activities.”

The Lee County Sheriff Office told WBBH it does not have a report about the fish tank incident.
