Brevard County

No shelters have been announced.

Lake County

Lake County will open 15 shelters for people who need them during Milton.

The shelters will open Tuesday, Oct. 8 at noon.

Residents are encouraged to bring necessary supplies such as medication, bedding, and a pet carrier or crate.

Orange County will open 11 general population shelters by 6 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 8.

These will be for people needing evacuation or shelter from Hurricane Milton.

Three shelters for persons with special needs will open Tuesday, Oct. 8, by 10 a.m.

Orange County residents requiring a PSN shelter should dial 3-1-1 or 407-836-3111. LYNX will provide free service to shelter locations.

Volusia County Schools will provide shelters for Hurricane Milton starting at 9 a.m., Wednesday, Oct. 9, at the following school locations:

General population:

· Creekside Middle School, 6801 Airport Road, Port Orange, FL 32128

· University High School, 1000 W. Rhode Island Ave, Orange City, FL 32763

· DeLand High School, 800 N. Hill Ave, DeLand, FL 32724 (pet friendly)

Medically fragile population only:

· Hinson Middle School, 1860 N. Clyde Morris Blvd, Daytona Beach, FL 32117

· Galaxy Middle School, 2400 Eustace Ave, Deltona, FL 32725

The Volusia County Fairgrounds will also open as a pet-friendly shelter.
